I was in business trip from Jakarta to Pittsburgh, PA USA. My boss suggested me to stay in TAIWAN for a couple days, as EVA Air route from Jakarta-Taipei-Los Angeles-Pittsburgh. I would not wasted it, as a Chinese descendant I will take this opportunity to know more about TAIWAN.

I arrived at Taiwan Tao yuan International Airport Feb 10, late at night. I went to Chuto Plaza hotel Taipei to stay for 1 night, and went to Tainan the day after. Early in the morning my taxi sent me back to Tao Yuan airport instead of Songshan domestic airport. I have a problem with my limited Chinese language to explain to the taxi driver, I get off in the airport and looked for another cab.
It was the first day peoples back to work after Chinese New Year holidays. I found very hard to get the TAXI, more than 10 peoples queued at the Taxi station outside the Airport. The main problem in here, there is no one who understand English. Most of them speak Chinese or Taiwanese. I rush my self to catch my flight from Taipei to Kaohsiung, my friend pick me up at Kaohsiung airport. Finally I've got conclusion there are two type of transportation from Taipei to Tainan, the most effective is using the high speed train from Taipei to Tainan station directly better than fly from Taipei to Kaohsiung than drive to Tainan. I found it was very interesting trip. Tainan is very nice city. I was stay at Tayihlandis Hotel, very nice place with reasonable rate. There are a lot of Temple in Tainan, most of them is Taoism Temple, very nice place to observe and Anping fort is a nice place also. I like Taiwan's food, similar with Chinese food in Jakarta but they have traditional foods. I tried a couple places, and it was amazing.
I flew back to Taipei, my friend took me to Taipei 101 for lunch, you could see many things from level 85. I spent my time to visit Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, Lantern Festival and Chiang Kai-Shek memorial hall. I found Metro train is very nice transportation, easy and cheap. I wish to have it in Jakarta someday. I stayed 5 days in Taiwan then continue my trip to Pittsburgh.
